HP (Hewlett-Packard) company always aims to provide a wide variety of hardware components as well as software and related services to consumers. Although, the company even provide best services. Now, they have come up with their latest supercomputer- HP’s new supercomputer. According to engineers, this supercomputer will be the world’s first demonstration of memory-driven computing. The memory-driven computing is the tool design to take benefit of abundant persistent memory. The idea behind it that creating a computing platform that depends on memory instead of processing power.

Actually, the company was facing a problem of growing rates of websites and cloud services. It was getting difficult for them to manage huge and complex amounts of data. So, they decided to create a step change in computing technology and develops a new supercomputer.

This HP’s new supercomputer is capable of storing massive amounts of data in smaller spaces. It is so efficient that it can dramatically reduce the space required by an entire data center.

On the level below the Peregrine supercomputer in the ESIF is its liquid cooling system (pumps and pipes) that interface the data center and the supercomputer. They connect the cooling supplied to the supercomputer and the hot water returned from the supercomputer to the systems for heating in the winter and heat rejection in the summer (through evaporative cooling towers).

This HP’s new supercomputer machine consists of memristor and a new data transfer system. Memristor is a highly dense and fast memory type that acts like a human brain. The data transfer system inside it uses silicon photonics. An alternative to copper wire, silicon photonics will send data via lasers that are about a quarter of the diameter of human hair.

The company switched to photonics. Thus, it will increase data transfers to about 160 petabytes in 250 nanoseconds while using much less energy.

According to HP, The machine is not only a workable server technology, but that it can also be adapted to power smartphones, PCs, and tablets.

HP said, “The Machine will bring us supercharged mobile computing devices with storage capacities up to 100TB.”

The HP Apollo platform brings liquid cooling without the risk. Existing devices such as laptops, mobile needs to connect with pools of processors and memory chips by photonic cables. However, even no Operating System even designed to manage such huge amount of data. So, HP plans to build a The Machine OS from the ground up, as well as versions for Linux and Google’s mobile OS.

HP said, “It’s simulations show that memory-driven computing can achieve improved execution speeds up to 8,000 times faster than conventional computers.
