High-speed Hyperloop One Ready For First Trial Run

Tesla and SpaceX’s co-founder Elon Musk has successfully done with testing of a revolutionary new train system dubbed Hyperloop One. The Hyperloop One- the concept driven by Elon Musk is actually a reaction to the California High-speed Rail system that disappointed Musk.

Hyperloop is a super-fast transportation system that promises to be better and cheaper than high-speed rail. It is a futuristic train that Musk calls a cross between a Concorde, a rail gun, and an air-hockey table.

Elon Musk, who proposed the concept in a white paper back in 2013, is now ready for the first trial run.

In actual, the hyperloop relies on the very high-speed transit (VHST) system. It combines a magnetic levitation train and a low-pressure transit tube that exceeds airliner speed.

This superfast transport system consists of two massive tubes extending from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Its pods that carry passengers can travel through the tubes at speeds topping out at 760 mph. The most fascinating- it has its special environment over or under the ground.

Designs for the Hyperloop look a bit like a train, but rather than running on wheels, its pods levitate and travel in a vacuum. The frictionless environment allows them to move with little air resistance.

The system uses a custom electric motor to accelerate and decelerate a levitated pod through a low-pressure tube. The vehicle will glide silently by using magnetic levitation for miles with no turbulence.

Rob Lloyd, chief executive officer of Hyperloop One said, “Hyperloop One is the only company in the world building an operational commercial Hyperloop system. This disruptive technology – conceived, developed and built in the U.S. It will move passengers and cargo faster, cleaner and more efficiently. It will transform transportation as we know it and create a more connected world.”

“By the end of this year, the company will have a team of 500 engineers, fabricators, scientists and other employees dedicated to bringing the technology to life. Hyperloop One will enable broad benefits across communities and markets to support sustainable manufacturing and supply chains, ease the strain on existing infrastructure and improve the way millions live and work.”
